Master Weekend Workshop

Our Master Weekends with Lisina are a spin-off of our already intensive programming for Kids, Teens and Adults. The Master Weekends with Lisina are designed to impact the actor with a level of physical, emotional, and intellectual challenge the way our current programs do - only compacted into a two-day, 10-hour marathon workout.
Designed and taught by Lisina Stoneburner~ the Southeast's Most Sought After Acting Coach.

Our Philosophy
We are firm believers in on-going training for the actor. The same way athletes who compete or strive to compete on the professional level do; actors who want to compete need to keep their senses sharp, their imaginations working and their skills crisp by participating in on-going long-term training regiments. Every now and then a Master Weekend that can jolt the mind, heart and body is beneficial to shock the system, challenge the skill set and re-set the goals.

Who is Eligible?
· Adult Master Weekends are for ages 18 and up
· Kids and Teens Master Weekends are for ages 7 and up. (All children must be able to read.)
IMPORTANT!! We do recommend some previous training or experience before registering. We do not make this mandatory as sometimes natural talent and extreme effort is enough - however it is strongly advised.
Everyone in the Master Weekend will be pushed extremely hard and allowances will not be made for those who feel too pressured or exhausted mentally or emotionally by the work. Parents.... We strongly advise you to be realistic about your child's work ethic, their endurance and their desire to participate fully before registering them.
(In the first hour of the Master Weekend an assesment is made of all the participants to see if we need to divide the group by ability. We will if necessary.)

Who Teaches It?
Co-Executive Director Lisina Stoneburner along with two other acting instructors. Lisina Stoneburner is the Southeast's most sought after acting coach. In addition to being credited with coaching some of the top booking actors in the area and Los Angeles, she also consistently coaches on film and television shows. She is currently the on-set coach for the CW hit "The Vampire Diaries".

Actor's Slate

Hello fellow actors. Actor Slate is shooting in Atlanta on February 4 and 5. There are still a handful of shoot times available.

Pretty much everything you need to know is on the Actor Slate website, where you can also schedule and book an Actor Slate shoot session.

Some important things to know.

- The cost is $175.00. To shoot, edit and host on the Breakdown Services and Actors Access networks. Personal copies of both the 60 second Actor Slate that appears on Breakdown Services and Actors Access, and the Actor Slate Deluxe, a longer version of between 2 - 4 minutes are available for additional cost. Most actors are purchasing one or both of these for use on their own websites, for direct submission purposes and for uploading to popular video sites like Youtube and Facebook and lots of others.

- Chelsea Studios is the exclusive producers of Actor Slate for Breakdown Services. Only those produced by Chelsea will appear on the Breakdown Services and Actors Access networks.

Thanks.

Deferred Pay Pilot Opportunity

Fun World
A Futuristic Black Comedy

Atlanta based filmmaker and documentarian, Barry Mills (The Popeye Show, The
Bob Clampett Show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, The Rudy and GoGo World
Famous Cartoon Show) has once again teamed up with long time friend and
acclaimed novelist Jack Pendarvis (Awesome, Your Body is Changing, The
Mysterious Secret of the Valuable Treasure) to bring you Fun World - a dark
glimpse into the near future. Following a corporate merger between the U.S.
government and a multimedia conglomerate, the government and the media have
become marvelously confused.

I am currently Casting Directing a spec Pilot for Director Barry Mills. I've
worked for Barry on several commercials at Turner Broadcast.

The pay is deferred, pending sale of the pilot.

Thank you for your assistance.

Auditions will be held Feb 9, 10, 11 with possible callbacks on Feb 15.

Fun World Cast List

Delivery Guys 1 & 2 – Delivery #1 is the only one that speaks. A couple of his lines were cut when the scripts were merged that indicated a bit of a smart mouth. Sort of big in stature. Reference: John Goodman

Frank Whalen – Mostly easy going early to mid thirties; gets run over by alpha-wife. Reference: Doug Savant in Desperate Housewives.

Timmy Whalen – young child; maybe 4ish.

Helen Whalen – Abrasive, emasculating, wife of Frank. Early to mid thirties. Reference: Amy Poehler

Dog - animated (voice) – do not need to cast for this part.
Robot – animated (voice) – do not need to past for this part.

Steve (Observation Employee) – Company man, middle management, nonchalant and somewhat apathetic about his job/duties. Mid to late thirties.

Jimmy – Young; green; “I’m gonna change the World”; early twenties; looks like a kid. This is his first job out of college.

Cheryl/PC-409/Betty – Early twenties; petite; pretty; in shape. Reference: Sailor Moon

(Unnamed female) Observation Supervisor – somewhat shy and would probably be more comfortable if she didn’t have to talk to anyone. Cannot completely relate to the young employees she oversees. (There is someone I want to read for this part)

Milo & Otis – at first glance appear to be average Joes. While they appear somewhat slack they are actually hard-core company men that have a good deal of insight into the workings of the company and do their jobs in a casual “no questions asked” manner. One appears to be smarter than the other but both of their brains have been affected by the nature of their jobs. Down the line they could possibly be clones of clones or robots, etc. Cheech and Chong if they were hit men. Maybe Crockett and Tubbs… Reference: Casey Affleck from Assassination of Jesse James and James Franco from Freaks and Geeks.

Screaming Candidate (video file) – This woman appears in a video shown to Jimmy by Milo or Otis. Mid to CU shot woman in a (hospital) bed hooked up to electrodes suddenly emits a scream of intense pain – tense, eyes rolling back.

Foreman (Wave Hoppers) – do not need to cast this part

Jenny – About 4 or 5 years old. (I’d like to see if my daughter can do this part)

Jenny’s Mom – Frightened mom, early to mid thirties.

Mark – Young; green; slacker; gamer; trust fund kid

Jesse (VO – unless picture phone is used) – do not need to cast this part

Paul (Cheryl’s ex-boyfriend) – Reference: Early twenties Paul Rudd or Seth Rogan

The President – A popular Latin singer. Reference: Ricky Martin, Prince

Rooster Owners 1 & 2 – do not need to cast for these parts
Secret Service (3 or 4) – do not need to cast for these parts

Hippo – animated (voice) – do not need to cast for this part.

Doctor or medic – do not need to cast for this part

The “Man” – Crazy, creepy old man. Reference: Andy Griffith (I do have someone in mind for this part)

I see Jimmy, Cheryl and Paul as being about the same age. Mark is pretty young, also.

I’d also like to mix it up some and not have an all white cast. I know the references are mostly white.

POTENTIAL JOB

I'm working on an indie feature, and wanted to see if there was anyone that you might be able to send our way. I'm not asking for your casting services sadly. We have very little money and want to offer that to the secondary cast and dayplayers, but I'm hoping you might post it or send it out to anyone interested in gaining more experience on set or getting more feature film experience.

Alex Motlagh of Popfilms produced the first 9 days. I'm producing the 2nd half of this low budget feature film written and directed by Dan Bush (The Signal - Transmission 3, FFP, Day in the Life, etc.). It's not a horror film, it's a dramatic thriller about a man who tries to escape his life by cloning himself - in the style of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty, and Michael Clayton.

For the secondary and dayplayer roles, we want good actors with interesting faces. ATL is full of beautiful people for commercial work, but we really want character actor faces and hope you may have some that would be interested.

We're looking to hold casting this Thursday and Friday - by appointment. For the 2 secondary roles, we will read people, but for everyone else, we just want a meet and great, and can have them out in 5 minutes. If they send me their headshots and resumes, we'll pick folks and schedule them ourselves.

RESUME AND HEADSHOTS CAN BE SENT TO: nusouthfilms@mindspring.com

Here are some descriptions of what we are looking for:

Tom Langley: 30-45. Head of Next Corp Security, and as he cryptically tells Edward in the movie,"If you are talking to me... it's serious." Focused as a bulldog and as smart as a wolf - think Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive, or Harrison Ford in Blade Runner. He comes to the realization that he might be a product of Next Corp. cloning. This newfound doubt about who or what he is informs his dissension from Next Corp., and drives him to save his maker's life against Next Corp's orders.

Dr. Bronson: 45-65 year-old white woman. Striking features. We think she is a sweet and kind woman, sympathetic to the lead character, but she's actually the Evil Architect of Next Corp and as such she will never let any one who knows the lab's secrets leave.

Dayplayer Roles:

4 large, intimidating Security Men (30-45 in shape)

3 Psych Ward Male Orderlies (Large enough to carry a thrashing 5'6 male)

1 Psych Ward Doctor (40-65)

2 Cops (in shape)

1 Male Lawyer (55-70)

1 Psych Ward Administrator (40-60 male)

Extras: All shapes and sizes - 18 and up

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!
