IMMEDIATE CALL TO ACTION!!!!!

Immediate Action Requested

GEORGIA ADVOCACY RECOMMENDATION
We urge all the members of the Georgia entertainment production community to contact their local elected State Representatives and Senators immediately by phone and urge their support for continuation of the Production Tax Credit program at its current level. It would be helpful if you call and relay your personal stories and impact of the entertainment industry on your particular business. It is particularly important for constituents of Majority Leader Larry O'Neal to contact him (district 146, Warner Robins area) and Representative Robert Channell, Joint Committee Chairman ( from district 116 , the Greensboro area). Please share this email with your local entertainment stakeholders and urge their participation.

Please also note the Governor's discussion in the news about this program in the link below.

Legislator’s phone numbers are available on the state’s website, to assist you in contacting your legislator
http://www.votesmart.org/official_state.php?state_id=GA&dist=&go2.x=5&go2.y=8

The calls should include but are not limited to the following points:

On behalf of ________ I urge your opposition to any legislation, which would sunset or reduce the state’s vibrant production tax credit program.

(Include personal stories here) My business____was created in ___ and expanded___ over the past ____. We have hired_____and expect to ___ If the production tax credit program continues. If the program is eliminated or reduced, the competition productions companies are cost minded and they will be forced to locate elsewhere and we will have to reconsider whether we will be able to make additional investment and job expansion in the state….))))

The film and television industry provides a critical stimulus for the Georgia economy. Tax Credits are an essential component to attract production jobs and permanent infrastructure.

ilm and television production locating to the state because of the film tax credit has added over $800M annually to the State Gross Product. It supports more than 11,000 full-time equivalent jobs. This number has increased five-fold since 2005.

In FY10, economic impact in Georgia from these productions conservatively amounted to more than $1.4 billion. In FY07, economic impact amounted to just over $240 million.

The Production tax credit program creates both production and non-production related jobs including marketing, construction, hotels and tourism.

A recent Georgia economic impact report* illustrated this industry’s significant contribution to the Georgia economy and the production tax credit program more than pays for itself. The report does not even quantify the additional benefits to the state in terms of tourism generated. Additionally, the promotional value of the Georgia logo in each Georgia production was never quantified in the study but this added value to the state would significantly increase any quantified return to the state. Since 2005 the film induced tourism spending has been conservatively estimated in excess of $400 million.

Chez Group Workshop

Back by Popular Demand...
(for more information go to www.chezgroup.com)
Shannon Eubanks!

Chez Studios is excited to announce that Shannon Eubanks will
be teaching her one-day Camera Techniques acting workshop for
adults (ages 16 and older) on Saturday, March 5th (SOLD OUT).
Due to an overwhelming response, a second date has just been added for
Shannon Eubanks' SOLD OUT on-camera workshop. The new date is Saturday, March 19th
from 9 AM to 6 PM. Please take the time to register now, as space is limited and
will again be filled on a first come, first served basis...!

Shannon's process has been developed through over thirty years of teaching in Los Angeles and in M.F.A. programs across the country, As explained by Shannon, her on-camera workshop agenda differs from others in that, rather than giving you a script, asking you to step out into the hallway to work up the scene, and then putting you on camera to be critiqued, Shannon's focus is on giving you the tools to actually work up the scene while you are out in the hallway.

In her own words, Shannon describes her workshop agenda as follows: I teach a proprietary process that is suitable for all levels from beginner to professional: a practical, step-by-step approach that carries the actor from first reading and analysis of the sides, through a unique prep process that allows the performer to merge with the material and have it manifest correctly for camera, the end point having the performer comfortable and ready for an audition. A) ECU - extreme close-up work. Prepping for shots that drastically limit physical movement, but demand complete emotional fluidity. B) Physical characterizations under audition limitations. How to immediately - as in before you even SPEAK - demonstrate a specific persona (arrogant jock, insecure businessman, feather-brained salesgirl, etc,) in a fine-tuned emotional state, when your agent's sending in the mandatory "head and shoulders" shot. The morning session will involve teaching my techniques.

The afternoon session will consist of taping and playback. A note: my "intro" class is challenging and effective even for actors with long-term experience, as it is unlike anything they've had before. It is NEW TOOLS. The morning session is scheduled from 9 AM until 1 PM, then a one-hour lunch break, followed by the afternoon session scheduled from 2 PM until 6 PM.

Please remember this workshop will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Shannon keeps class size small in order to focus closely on each individual actor.

REGISTER NOW FOR THE SECOND CLASS: MARCH 19

The cost of the one-day workshop is $145. We offer PayPal for your convenience. If you choose to register through PayPal, please contact Mary Ann at chezmaryann@aol.com to give her the name and age of the person you are registering. You will receive a confirmation email in return.
