2011 holds so many amazing opportunities for J Pervis Talent Agency and we hope to bring the year in with a BANG! Here are a few reminders to get us started!

In preparation for another great year we have scheduled the mandatory talent evaluations. The evaluation gives us a chance to get re-acquainted, showcase your talent, and determine if your marketing materials are up-to-date.

Note: If we do not hear from you about the evaluation we will assume that you have made the decision to take a break from the business or have chosen a different path. You will then be categorized as inactive.

See below the date(s) and time(s) for the evaluations. Be sure to RSVP.

Children and Teens
Monday December 6, 2010
Note: Please RSVP – you may request a morning or an afternoon slot

Actors/Models ages 19 & Up:
Monday December 13, 2010 – times will all be in the Morning
Note: RSVP for a specific time slot

All evaluations will take place at J Pervis Talent Agency: 659 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30312 THE STUDIO ROOM – Located in the Court Yard

To adequately evaluate your skills and marketing materias bring your headshot with resume attached and/or composite card. Non-readers should prepare a mini-commercial (10 – 30 seconds). All others should prepare either a 30 – 60 second commercial OR a 60 second monologue. Due to time restraints, we must honor these time limits.

Please treat this as an actual audition and be 100 % prepared! I have attached a self-evaluation form. Complete and bring it to the evaluation. If you would like feedback please bring a self-addressed stamped envelope for a copy of the form to be sent back to you.

To renew your individual page on the J Pervis Talent website a renewal fee of $55 must be received in our office no later than December 15th. This fee covers unlimited headshot, resume, and demo updates for 2011. Send all updates for the resumes to info@jpervistalent.com. To update the headshots send a CD to the office in jpg format. There will be a 15 day grace period for all payments not received by December 15th. The late fee after December 15th is $20 (total $75), due by December 30th, 2010. If we do not receive payment for renewal you will be automatically deleted from the website. Therefore if payment is received after 12/30/2010 you will be considered new talent on the website. To reactivate your status the fee will be $85.00 with a renewal due every January.

If you are NOT on the website and would like to be added:

Send an updated resume with a CD of your jpg headshots to J Pervis Talent Agency along with your initial set-up fee of $85.00. Note: There will be an annual renewal fee due each January. Allow approximately 30 days for headshots and resumes to be uploaded on the website. The website contains a brief history of the agency, a press and photo section, and most importantly, photos of our talent pool. We market directly to producers, advertising agencies, and photographers. To view the website, go to www.jpervistalent.com

Crystal Carson - Los Angeles acting coach - www.crystalcarson.com
Thursday, November 18, 2010 / 5pm-8pm
"How do I book the roles that keep going to the Los Angeles actors?!"

Ever said, "I am just as good as the LA talent that is coming here and booking the local roles!"? The truth is, if you want to compete with Hollywood, you've got to know their rules. The way you prepare for, and then "perform" your auditions, may actually be causing you to look "green" in the eyes of the LA directors/producers who view your tapes....even if your agent or acting teacher has been giving you high marks and praise! Crystal will discuss thoroughly the proper way to break down a script and approach an audition, the truth about memorizing lines/holding the script, when/how to use props or pantomime, where to look for your eye-line, how to find your character's objective, etc. And all based on what is currently the trend in Hollywood.

This course is for every actor who is pursuing Film/TV work. Actors who are just starting and actors who book Film/TV on a regular basis will improve their booking rates. In LA, Crystal teaches actors weekly who are booking lead and supporting roles and has her finger on the pulse of what producers/casting directors want to see, how they perceive "local" talent when they shoot in our state, what is now perceived as "good" acting given the prevalence of reality shows, etc. Even local Atlanta acting teachers will find lots of new, helpful information by sitting in on this workshop. Agents and casting directors are very much welcomed, too!

This short class will help all actors come across as professionally as the LA actors with whom they are being compared. So many projects are coming to Georgia...it's time we all bring our A-GAME to the audition room!
