John D’Aquino, popular actor (Shake It Up, Seinfeld, CSI, Cory in the House, Hannah Montana - IMDB), Disney television consultant and Los Angeles based acting coach, will share his knowledge and help you hone your ability to deliver commanding and believable performances for the camera. All workshop audition scenes will be videotaped and available for you to view on our website (this service is free with website registration).
John’s revolutionary Active Listening Technique Exercises will help you activate your curiosity and use active listening to bring realism to your scene to help you stand out from the competition at an audition and improve auditioning and performing skills for the camera. The camera is a lie detector and sees when we are faking it instead of feeling it. And, whether our character is living in a broad, zany Disney-type comedy or on some subtle brushed, edgy, independent film, the camera demands truth in order for the audience to believe our circumstances. Of course, truth can be painted brightly (Disney and Nickelodeon) or delicately (one hour drama or film) depending on the genre for what we are auditioning, but the theory is the same. Learn how listening makes us better actors!
